I am reading Tu by Patricia Grace at the moment. The novel takes place in Italy during World War II, and is about three brothers in the Maori Battalion.
I am really enjoying it, just as I have enjoyed everything else that I have read by Patricia Grace. I love her writing style; sometimes it feels like I am listening to a conversation back home in New Zealand.
Are you reading anything interesting at the moment?

I just finished "Affection" by Ian Townsend, about the plague epidemic in Townsville in 1900. It's historical fiction, and what I love about (most) Australian novels is the way that the place is treated like another character.
sadly just textbooks. sniff :(
I am the last person on the planet to discover Salman Rushdie, and I am really finding it hard to put down A.S. Bryant's "The Children's Book". i also just read "The English passengers" which drew me in from mild interest to fascination ... shame I can't remember the name of the author!
